Moorgreen Terraces

Moorgreen Terraces are a collective of townhouses designed for a developer. Various 3-storey townhouses are raised above the ground, cascaded from the street front and overlooks the east coast and Rangitoto. At the center of the development, a driveway segregates the clusters to provide a unified access.

A key characteristic of the project is the keystone wall at the street corner to direct the scene to the townhouses it sits atop of. The surfaces while simple and subtle, paints a distinct warm scene when exposed to the evening sun. Composed with various palm species, the development complemented by the landscaping encaptures a tropical carribean tone to the scene.

The building masses are broken into multiple duplex clusters, perched by side and front yards to enhance separation. To break the bulk further, the large building footprints allow for extensive exploration of roofscape. Effortlessly articulating the roof pitches to create an elegant rhythm of energy guided by the verticality of the claddings.
